August Wrap up!

Hello everyone! This month I read a good mix of romance, fantasy and even a non-fiction book to make a grand total of 7 books. (Look at me expanding my reading tastes.)

The Thing About Love by Julie James. You can tell the author really did her research for this book. There is tons of information and I think that made the story much more credible and better altogether. Rating: 4 stars

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Amazing book! You can check out all my thoughts in my review. Rating 4.5

Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore. I was kind of disappointed by this book. It was definitely not what I was expecting. There we some unfinished plots that get magically solved in the last few pages and it made no sense to me. I also I thought we would see more about the suffragist movement, but that didn’t happen. The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan. The beginning of this book caused me so much anxiety because the stakes were so high and I was wondering how Riordan was going to pull it off, but then everything was solved pretty easily?… Rating: 3.5 stars

Red, White and the Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. This is the most ADORABLE WHOLESOME book I’ve read. I loved how cute Henry and Alex are together, and just how obsessed they are with each other. Their emails were filled with the most delightful, raw expression of their emotions and it was *chef’s kiss*. Rating: 5 stars

So you want to talk about Race by Ijeoma Olue. This book was super informative and eye opening.

Froi of the Exiles by Melina Marchetta. I really enjoyed this second book in the Lumatere Chronicles, my only complain was that it was a bit slow in the middle/final part of the book. Rating: 4.5 stars

Thank you for reading!

  1. I got Gods of Jade and Shadow as an ebook, started to read it and put it down for no good reason. After reading your review, and seeing how much you liked it I’m a little mad at myself for putting it down.
